Nile Theological College is an institution that offers Theological education to all protestants Churches in both Sudan and South Sudan for many years since its establishment in early nineties 1990s. Currently it exists in both Republic of the Sudan and the Republic of South Sudan. In the Sudan language of instruction is Arabic as it the spoken language, while in South Sudan language of the instruction is English as it is the official language.
Currently it operates in the facilities rented from the Ministry of Labour due to lack of facility, because it was operating in Malakal town before the current crisis. After the crisis of 2013 it was brought to juba in 2014 temporally hoping that situation will get better and it will be taken back to Malakal so, currently it remains in Juba and the management is working to have its own place and infrastructures.
Nile Theological College was established in Khartoum Sudan in 1991 by late Rev. Bill Anderson with his wife Muma Lois has we used to call here. It started its operation in a small house in Khartoum center and its first graduates finished their classes in that small house, but later on it was move to Sudan Presbyterian Evangelical girls Secondary School in Bhari, Khartoum North.
The Mission of the College is to promote Christianity through training, research and provision of services to public in an environmentally friendly mannar.
The vision of the College is to become a center of excellence and a valued member of the global academic community in Theological studies with emphasis on spreading Christians values and traditions
Nile Theological College main goal was/is to train Pastors and Church Leaders. Has time goes; it becomes one of the best Theological Schools for training both Church and Community leaders. Due to high cost of training pastors and Church leaders aboard in which training of one pastor was almost enough to train five (5) pastors locally. So late Rev. Bill Anderson and the leadership of both Presbyterian Church of the then Sudan (PCOS) and Sudan Presbyterian Evangelical Church SPEC) saw it wise to start a Theological School to train enough Pastors and Church leaders with less cost than what it takes to do training aboard.
